IIT Hyderabad is one of the newer IITs, established in 2008, with a permanent campus at Kandi near Sangareddy in Telangana. It has close academic and industry links with Japan and follows a "fractal" academic model that lets students take many smaller, flexible credit courses. It has grown quickly in research and in newer areas such as AI and design. Elan & nVision is its combined cultural and technical festival.
