IIT Indore was established in 2009 and runs from a permanent campus at Simrol, outside Indore in Madhya Pradesh. As a younger IIT it is compact and research-oriented, with engineering, science and humanities departments, and it has built a strong research profile relative to its age. Its smaller student body makes for a close-knit campus, with Fluxus as its main annual techno-cultural festival.
